PRODUCT SALES

E-NEWS

August 2009

Welcome to the Product Sales E-News! This E-News is full of information about the fall product sale and the cookie sale! These mailings are sent out once a month. If you have suggestions for topics to be addressed in future E-News, please contact the product sales staff member at your regional office

Product sales is a very important part of the Girl Scout experience.  Being a Girl Scout is more than just selling nuts and cookies; it is about learning valuable life skills that girls will carry with them while they grow to be productive adults in our communities.  Through product sales, girls will:

  • Begin planning

  • Give sales presentations

  • Work as a team

  • Build self confidence

  • Learn to set goals

  • Learn budgeting & money skills

  • Learn to problem solve

FALL PRODUCT SALE

Does your troop have plans for the fall, but no cash? Consider participating in the Fall Product Sale- in which girls will learn about goal setting, team work, and communication.   Troops will also earn $.60 for each food item sold ($1.50 for each magazine voucher sold) and recognitions! Please call or email your service unit fall product consultant or visit www.girlscoutsofwesternohio.org for more information.

How to get started!
Your troop must have:

  • All girls and adults registered as Girl Scouts for the 2009-2010 membership year.  Get ready before it’s too late; register your troop before September 30th.  You will not receive a fall sale packet until your troop is registered.
  • An adult volunteer to be the troop manager.  Troop managers must have completed the volunteer application and background check.  The background check is free, click here to start the process.
  • A bank account and be debt free from the council.
  • Signed parent permission slips for each participating Girl Scout.
  • Current financial statement on file.

Be sure to attend your service unit’s August/September leaders meeting; your service unit fall sale consultant(s) will be passing out the fall troop packets.  Troop online training is available this year on the Trophy Nut Online Ordering website.  You must receive a trophy nut login and password from your service unit fall sale consultant before you can access the online training.

“TOGETHER We Can… make the world a better place” is the theme for the 2009 fall product sale.  This year we are focusing on ways for girls to DISCOVER, CONNECT, and TAKE ACTION through exciting and fun learning opportunities that can be found in everyday life.
